It is set in Prison Island, and the player can experience and wage battles in an open world environment which can be freely explored.

First impressions are positive, to say the least, I would very much love some more time with the battle system already to refine my skills and get so much better at it.World Seeker puts players in the role of Luffy from a third-person perspective. Not just as a massive fan of the series, but also as an RPG fan. Once you advance a little through the story, you learn more about Lim and her powers, One being able to process the big cubes you can find (and not absorb yourself) by creating a dream world of past memories, the first one being Alabasta… Imagine them feels when you encounter Ace in a tavern or seeing Luffy speak the magical words that Vivi is a Mugiwara…Īh, One Piece Odyssey, the time I spent with the game, pure bliss really. Some attacks do more damage to certain types (think Pokemon battles here) and so much more. On top of all that, you get the fun turn-based system that comes with some perks, like how some enemies can be blown back by attacks, hitting those behind them. There is so much more, what happened to Brook’s body? Who are Lim and Adio (the other inhabitant) really? What are those beings called the colossus really?

While you would think the game is now a mission to basically reclaim your powers and then get off of the island, you are only semi-right. Upon meeting Lim, one of two inhabitants of the island, she uses her own powers and renders the Mugiwara powerless, sealing their powers in cubes and spreading those across the island. After stranding on a new island, the Mugiwara are first in need of reuniting and this is where we find out that Brook lost his body on the bottom of the ocean. I was allowed to play an entire day and I even went double down on my time so I have a few things to say. From attacks like Cien Fleur from Nico D Robin to Luffy his Gattling gun, each using their own separate point meters, so you can’t just keep doing the big attacks one after the other.

The adventures of Luffy and his crew are legendary and I am proud to call myself a fan from the very first hour of the series.Īs a turn-based RPG, you already know what to expect, right? Tons of special moves from the heroes (I will call them the Mugiwara from here on as that is their official name in Japanese, in English, they are called the Straw Hat Pirates.

Just last month alone, the series went over 2 million books in Japan alone and it has been a top seller for years. I will admit I was a little skeptical when I heard about this, One Piece does lend itself so very well for a warriors style game and I will freely admit I am probably their biggest fan, I consider the genre to be very fitting to One Piece considering the nature of this best selling manga.Ī fun fact is that One Piece is currently the world record holder for most volumes sold by a single author, which is truly impressive.
